Kambarang - a season when reptiles emerge from hibernation and the warmer and drier weather spurs on a second spring, resulting in the fruiting and ripening of bushfoods. This field trip event to the spectacular Kent River at Millars Basin or Gnowerbup will be an opportunity for participants to learn about native freshwater species and gain a better understanding of the Noongar seasons and the changes experienced within the local environment.
Murdoch University researchers Stephen Beatty, Mark Allen and Mitchell Haywood will discuss their current research project investigating the freshwater biodiversity within natural water refuges and fire water points and the impact of declining rainfall on species that rely on freshwater sources. Bookings to this free event are limited so please head to the Denmark Environment Centre website to secure your place.
